Residential lighting work

If you're remodeling a kitchen, finishing a basement, redoing a primary bathroom, or just sick of the boob lights from 1988 — we handle full residential lighting scopes. Common projects:

• Recessed (can) lighting installation — kitchen, living room, basement, bathroom
• Pendant and chandelier installation, including high-ceiling foyers
• Under-cabinet kitchen lighting
• Closet, pantry, and stair LED strip lighting

Commercial LED retrofits

Replacing aging fluorescent or HID lighting with LED in a commercial space typically pays for itself in 18–36 months through energy savings, plus utility rebates. We handle the full retrofit scope:

• Site survey and existing fixture count
• Photometric layout to confirm correct lumen output for the space
• LED fixture selection (troffer, high-bay, strip, panel, exterior)
• Controls — daylight harvesting, occupancy sensors, dimming
• Emergency lighting and egress compliance per NJ commercial code
• Utility rebate paperwork (PSE&G, JCP&L, etc.) prepared and filed
• After-hours install scheduling to avoid business downtime

Landscape and outdoor lighting

Properly designed landscape lighting transforms a property's curb appeal and makes the outside actually usable after dark. We install low-voltage landscape systems (path lights, uplights, accent lights, deck and stair lighting) with transformer placement, controller programming, and zone wiring — plus the line-voltage work for higher-output security lighting, motion sensors, and pool/patio fixtures.

Smart lighting and controls

If you want every light controllable from your phone, integrated with Alexa/Google/HomeKit, or scheduled to follow the sun — we set up the systems. Lutron Caséta and RA3 are our go-tos for residential because they're reliable and don't require ongoing cloud subscriptions. We also do Z-Wave, Zigbee, and integrated smart panels.

Pricing

Residential lighting jobs are scoped per project. Recessed lighting in a single room with existing power runs $600–$1,400 typically. Full kitchen lighting remodels run $2,500–$6,000. Whole-home rewires or new construction lighting is bid project by project.
